52nd Annual Olde Princess Anne Days

OPADThe two-day festival offers great opportunities to see how the town developed from its founding in 1733 to today. Walking and driving tours of the many significant historic buildings, farms, plantations and country homes show a number of excellent architectural styles ranging from the early 1700s to the early 1800s. 

Additionally, the grounds of the famous Teackle Mansion, built in 1801, will host "visits" from famous historical figures, demonstrations of 19th century cooking, crafts and life on plantations.

FREE Demonstrations on the Grounds of the Teackle Mansion include: Blacksmithing, Candlemaking, Handmade floor cloths, Leather works, 18th century reproduction toys and games, Weavers, Windsor chair reproductions
and more.

Enjoy FREE Entertainment at the Court House Saturday only at 1:00pm. You'll enjoy The UMES Gospel Choir, The UMES Concert Choir and the SPAAA (Society for the Preservation of African American Arts) singers will perform traditional songs from the 1800s.

The Town and Countyr Tours run Saturday, October 10, 2009 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, October 11, 2009 Noon to 5 p.m. Tickets are Required for these tours.

The Town Tours (ticket required) will visit the Cottman Pinkett House, Grey Eagle, Teackle Mansion, Somerset County Court House, Washington Hotel, Independence Hall, Williams House 1905 (Saturday Only), The Old Library 1860, Linden Hill, Colonel George Handy House, Eloise Mulchay House, Sarah Martin Done House and the local Churches which are open Saturday only.

The Country Tour (ticket required) will visit the Summer Farm Cottage, Glebe House (Chase House), Bridger's Lot Plantation, Davis Farm, Feldhausen House, Hollyhurst and Myrtle Grove.

Be sure to visit The Tea House located in the Sarah Martin Done House behind the Teackle Mansion. Purchase refreshments and desserts and sit down and relax a bit. Admission $20 Advance Tickets $15 Children under 12 admitted free with adult. No fee for events on Teackle Mansion Grounds
